What is a Platform Bed?
The basic platform bed is simply a bed that is constructed to support a mattress without the addition of box springs.
The platform bed concept has been around for many years, even before the development of the box spring and mattress combination in the mid 1800's. However, the modern design has been developed within the last 20 years or so and offers several styles, finishes and features that has made it one of the most popular bed designs for contemporary consumers.

Here are 3 of the basic types of platform beds:
1. Modern - A contemporary platform bed is generally built with simple lines, neutral design elements and solid color finishes.
